Well, I wanted to see if the 12th man was as advertised. Are the fans in Seattle as loud as what everyone says they are? The answer is Yes. Hell Yes. You can almost feel the pressure of the noise pounding against your head, this is easily the most rabid fan base in the NFL in my opinion. And what's ironic is Seattle is such a "laid back" city.
If you plan on sitting in section 318, take aim for the rows at the very bottom. They consist of 8 or 9 secluded rows that basically won't have the stair climbing that so many fans hate and those will have the closest view of the field. In fact, practically the same view as the fans in the Club suites. The protection from the rain is pretty much non existent here with no shield from the sloped roofing. I was also surprised at how much of the game fans were standing rather than sitting down. By game's end, your energy will be drained but the fans seemed to love every minute of it.
Also, there wasn't many options for food outside of this section. There was a stand that offered hamburgers, bratwursts, beef hot dogs, all very expensive as I had expected. Beers are usually $9 but the beer selection is fantastic. At some stands, you can find local brews like Manny's or Alaskan Amber.

A few other things to know:
*The Pro Shop is adjacent to the West entrance.
*"Touchdown City" is a free festival type area for Seahawks fans, largely aimed towards kids. They have live music sometimes, face painting, food, games, etc. It's all a lot of fun for mingling with other Seahawks fans.
*I've heard Sounders soccer games are no where near as fun and lively.
*You can access the stadium by the Link light rail or by Amtrak. Taxi cab also isn't a bad option if you're staying at one of the many downtown hotels.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 318, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Seahawks/Dallas Cowboys game at CenturyLink Field.
