To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 124, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Steelers/Baltimore Ravens game at Heinz Field.

There is only one endzone with seating at Heinz Field, and 124 is in the thick of it all. As long as you get tickets for rows A thru L, your view of the field will be fine. If you venture much higher, you run the risk of not being able to see the plays in the back of the end zone and instead would have to rely on the reaction of the crowd to know if the ball was caught. It's not a good feeling.
There were a ton of season ticket holders in this section and every one of them was as knowledgeable about the Steelers as the next. Get ready for some great conversation. Seeing the opposite side of the field can become a challenge but at the same time, it's lower level and not upper level so you can't really complain.

There are tons of great restaurants near the stadium including Deluca's, Grille 36 which is owned by Jerome Bettis and Lidia's which is off of Smallman Street.
