331 is one of your best options if you're considering sitting on the top level. There are three levels of seating so we were high up there but it's what I had expected (row 14). I would avoid any rows in the "20s" for sure. Those are the last few rows. I would shoot for rows 1-8 which would either be the first 7 rows of the lower portion of 331 or the first row in the second portion of 331.
Getting to your seats is easy but time consuming. They even list on the Patriots website that the average time it takes to make it up one of the ramps is 10-12 minutes. That's probably without the foot traffic.

I found some of the most passionate and knowledgeable Patriots fans in 331, many of them season ticket holders since the place opened in 2002. Get ready for some great Patriot conversation in 331.

This is one venue worth visiting whether you're a Patriots fan or visiting fan. It doesn't have the downtown charm that many NFL stadiums will have but is instead much like Ralph Wilson and Metlife Stadium and is out in the middle of nowhere. I found the Patriots fans to be rather welcoming to the Colts fans at the game. Not sure how that would translate to New York Jets or Buffalo Bills fans.

The good thing about Gillette Stadium is that you can avoid buying the concessions by tailgating and eating at Patriot Place eateries both before and after the game.
