Section 128 will be equally close to both midfield and the end zone. The Patriots spend a lot of time in the end zone (most games) so these seats came highly recommended from a friend so I decided to buy them for a game. Not much room for your knees thanks to the positioning of the cup holder in front but I got over it. We were really close to the Jets sideline so we snapped some great action shots of Rex Ryan, Sanchez, Tebow, etc. down on the sidelines. The stadium staff is usually pretty cool by about walking down as long as your seats are in that general area.
For the best view, you will want to sit past row 15 because rows 1-5 will mark it hard for your view to span the entire sideline. Jus my opinion though, sitting that close to the game would be excellent too if you've got seats in the first 10 or so rows.

The average seat in this section is going to cost $200+ per seat on websites like Ticketmaster. Face value, they're priced at $195, just so you know, and are significantly less for season ticket buyers. All of the season tickets have been bought up for quiet some time and there is now a wait-list for them. Thus, most fans have to suck it up and pay the outrageous prices just to get into the stadium. We only go to 2 games each season and always look at playoff tickets but can never afford them because demand is so high.

If you anticipate being overwhelmed by Gillette before visiting, don't be. When it's all said and done, it's a pretty average venue that looks much bigger on tv than it really is. And don't be fooled by the screenshots of downtown Boston when you see it on tv, either. Boston is miles and miles away from Gillette Stadium, kind of like Fedex Field's proximity to Washington DC.
There are definitely some neat little features about this place though that other fans will enjoy. I like the little MinuteMen that fire off their guns after a Patriots touchdown in the end zone. I also love the Lighthouse/Bridge combination that is a replica of the LongFellow Bridge in downtown Boston. And Patriot Place, has definitely added to the game day excitement a lot more than when that whole area was just another parking lot. Quick tip - eat before the game at Patriot Place so you don't have to spend money on the inside on the overpriced food.
