Went to the New York Giants game in 2012. Loved the atmosphere that day. Section 523 was rocking. We had a good look at the field, particularly the East endzone. For everything else, you will have to maneuver yourself slightly to the left to see the field. But most of the game, we stayed seated and it was relaxing because on the lower level we had always stood up and down for 4 quarters. You'll also love all of the purple colored seats, something you didn't get at Camden Yards down the street.
There is a scoreboard in each endzone to aid fans on the upper level. They're not the biggest but at least they aren't covered with advertisements like you'll see in so many other NFL stadiums around the country. Still, made it very easy to keep up with the game.
The grub at the stadium is pretty good, tons of original stands that carry items like crab cakes, bratwurst, Yuengling beer, etc. "Kickoff Classics" and "Goal Line Grill" are the most common stands I would say throughout the stadium. Expect to pay typical stadium prices for everything, not all stands accept credit card either. You can usually dodge the stadium food by getting full before the game at one of the many establishments near the stadium. Pickle's Pub, Philip Seafood, Dempsey's Pub and the Tilted Pig are all excellent places to eat.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 523, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Ravens/New York Jets game at M&T Bank Stadium.
