Took the family to a Wizards game last season vs. the 76ers. It was a friday night game but the upper level was still pretty sparse in terms of the amount of fans up there. We had seats in row N but sat much lower; I don't remember which row it was. We purchased our seats at the box office before the game. For your information, there is a $2 surcharge for every ticket purchase so you're not avoiding any fees by not buying from the online ticket brokers. You can always go the ticket scalper route but I wouldn't recommend it in Washington D.C.

In 433, we felt disconnected from the game and actually watched much of the game from the jumbo tron. But the presentation was crystal clear and right in front of our eyes. It's a good angle along the sidelines and if the atmosphere were better and not so dead, maybe our experience would have been a little different.

Overall, the Verizon Center is easy to get around and find your way. The only uncertainty was parking, we didn't take the Metro and instead parked in a garage on Indiana Avenue for $15. There are a lot of garages and surface lots on E and F streets but they range anywhere from $15-$30 to park.
