To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from this section, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Knicks vs. Portland Trail Blazers game. Keep in mind that the seats in this section aren't permanent seats so they likely won't be as comfortable or spacious as what you're anticipating.
Section 8 is directly behind the goal. Sat here for a two games during the big east tournament in the past; row 11. Paid $100 for two tickets; a bargain compared to nba tickets. Knicks tickets in that row would be double the price.
Enjoyed the game. As long as you are lower level at madison square garden, you will have a great seat.
