Saw the Knicks vs. the Nets in an always fun game to see in person. It never seems like you see any Nets fans in New York until they play the Knicks and then you see thousands of them. I plan on seeing a game at the Barclays Center later this season, I hear it's super nice.

For this particular game, we were in section 205 which was second level, behind the goal. It was a tiny section; the rows were numbered 1 thru 4 and there are only maybe 12 seats per row.
The view was surprisingly good and the sight of the iconic ceiling and scoreboard was cool. The seating area at Madison Square Garden is kept dim and dark and they keep the floor extremely bright and shiny. Kind of like they do in Los Angeles for the Lakers.

One thing I really appreciate about 'The Garden' is that the focus is always on basketball in between timeouts, halftime, breaks. No silly videos or contests, just basketball in the sport's mecca.
If you'll be making a weekend out of it, take the metro to Penn Station, it is underneath the arena. There are plenty of hotels in the area that you could stay at during your visit including the Hampton Inn on 31st and the Radisson Martinique on 32nd.
