To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from section 120, here is a Youtube video shot from there before a Mavericks/LA Clippers game at American Airlines Center.

If you're a fan of whatever team playing the Mavericks that night, 120 is where you want to be if you want to get plenty of up close glimpses of the players. I was in row D for a Spurs game which was maybe 7 rows from the floor (not 4th row like I had expected). But I could still hear a lot of the instructions Coach Poppovich was yelling at his players.

It's very surreal to sit so close and see so many basketball heroes in person. And not until you sit this close do you realize just how big some of these guys are.
I paid $400+ for two seats. Unfortunately, you have to spend some serious coin for great seats for Mavs games. That's just the nature of the beast. But you can usually keep the costs of attending the game low if you take the DART to the game and get off at Victory Station.
This is a big arena so choosing the right seat is very important. Personally, I would stray away from the end zone seats as well as any seat in the corner of the arena. I've sat mid court on the top level and it's not a bad view at all. Keeping up with the game is very easy thanks to the high definition jumbo tron up there.

Sit according to what you can afford but always remember that you get what you pay for at professional sports events.
