The American Airlines Center is one of those arenas that you won't enjoy unless you purchase good seats for the game. Stars games, you can get away with purchasing the upper level seats because the ice is so much bigger than the basketball court. But with the layout, this arena was definitely built with basketball in mind first. I love it here.

Section 204 was where I sat on 4-20-2012 vs. the Golden State Warriors. It was the final home game of the season before the playoffs. (Mavericks ended up getting swept). I sat in row D, the last row. Of the middle sections I have sat in, 204 definitely felt the furthest from the court with it's corner location.
Our waiter was very attentive and the arena staff/concierge, they're always great on the second level especially. If you like small sections and want to avoid the masses of Mavericks fans for one game, then section 204 will suit you well. No such thing as an uncomfortable seat at the American Airlines Center.

Parking can be an issue if you park in the cheaper ground lots because they are blocks from the stadium. You should be riding the DART to the game so you can pound as many drinks as you want. But lots E and F are huge and are right next to the arena. They obviously have security and getting in and out of the lot is very simple.
