Section 303 is going to give you the exact same view as sections 300-304. Our seats were behind home plate and came with a flawless view of the field below. Loved the pattern and design that the field is cut into; you really notice it up here. Baseball is great for conversations, so if you come here to enjoy the environment, section 303 will be just fine. If you're a fan that has to analyze every pitch and player, then you need to sit closer to the infield. There are three levels in the ballpark so the upper deck is pretty high up there but on a sunny day it's beautiful, especially if there is a slight breeze. Our three tickets set us back $80 which isn't cheap, even in San Diego. You can also, always just purchase a cheap upper level ticket and sit where you want, the ushers are usually pretty non-chalant about people moving into better seats.

Petco is a much kid friendlier ballpark than Dodger/Angel Stadiums with the Park/Picnic area in the outfield, the numerous mascots the Padres have and the "Beach" area in front of the bleachers. Keep in mind, you have to have a bleacher ticket to be able to access the beach. My wife and I loved the waterfall at the main entrance of the park as well as the Indian Sandstone exterior and the palm trees surrounding the grounds. Nothing says San Diego quiet like Petco Park!
