I had bought two tickets for Section 226, row 1 - don't recall exactly what I paid for them but it was a great deal. We were staying at the Omni and noticed a game was happening that day so we bought them from a fan on the street. I was pretty excited about getting tickets in the front row, but it was kind of a bummer when we showed up at our seats and realized we were the only fans in ou section.
I'm told it's not uncommon for the turnout to be so weak for Padres games, especially late in the season when they are way out of contention and the Chargers season is revving up.
Our seats were right above the left fielders which is a good perspective but there wasn't much action going on in the outfield. And the outfield at Petco Park is so dang deep that home runs are a rarity.
This section definitely isn't for everyone. If you like being able to refer to the main scoreboard for information, 226 is directly underneath it. So sit somewhere else if you want to be able to see the replays and silly videos the team displays in between innings.
