These seats have nice sweeping views of Citi Field's deep outfields but that's about it. You'll feel completely disconnected from the action sitting here or sections 529-538. On the bright side, you can see a good bit of Mets games from these seats without spending too much money. Believe it or not, the seats they stay the emptiest are the expensive club seats behind home plate. Word is Jerry Seinfield and John Stewart are both season ticket holders but oddly enough have never seen them at games when I come.
There are two giant scoreboards in Citi Field, both are really close to each other though. Both will keep you in touch with the game. The out of town scoreboard is something you will not be able to see from section 531 unless you sit in rows 1 thru 5. I wouldn't recommend those seats either, for fear of obstruction from the staircase/railing. And good luck checking scores on your phone because there is no free wi-fi and it's often hard to get a signal at the game.
Weirdest part of section 531 is seeing the little orange foul pole sticking up down below. As far as I know, Citi Field is the only ballpark in Major League baseball that doesn't have yellow foul poles. Wonder how Wilpon worked that out with Bud Selig?
