The NFL's most talked about player for all of the wrong reasons will begin play in the largest NFL stadium this fall. What Tim Tebow brings isn't exactly a ton of talent, but instead, a fan base that's going to be intrigued by his name on the roster. As of 2012, there is currently a waiting list to become a New York Jets season ticket holder which means that there are more than 80,000 season ticket holders for Jets games.

Average Jet fans will have to resort to companies on the secondary ticket market including Stubhub and Ticketmaster for a chance to catch a live game this season. The lowest priced tickets at Metlife Stadium are in the upper level endzones and those are $95 per ticket. As a general rule, season ticket holders are able to purchase tickets for a discounted rate which means a Jets fan will spend at least $100 for any ticket.

For 2011, the New York Giants and Jets were numbers 2 and 3 in overall league attendance. What that means is Tebow's presence will have little effect as opposed to if he were traded to say, Jacksonville, his hometown. Jaguars owner Shahid Khan recently stated that he would have drafted Tebow had he owned the franchise at the time. Statements like this is what gets fans really upset.

Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars have struggled with attendance, simply using Tim Tebow as a marketing scheme is so Mike Brown (Owner of the Cincinnati Bengals). The idea is to sign and draft players that give the franchise the best chance at winning, not just a temporary boost in ticket sales. If there is one thing we have learned in the history of sports, it's that nothing sells tickets like a winning team; not bobblehead giveaways, not Groupon, not 'bring your dog to the ballpark day. '

At the end of the day, the Jets have stated that Tebow will be the backup quarterback. I sense this as an attempt to light a fire under Sanchez who hasn't been performing to his potential. Regardless, Jets fans should be dreading the media circus that will ensue when the Jets training camp starts this summer. ESPN will likely document a quarterback rivalry between Tebow and Sanchez that doesn't even exist.
