Construction on the long-awaited mixed-use development outside of the Amway Center (home of the Orlando Magic) will begin in 2019. The new development has been more than a decade in the making and will sit within a plot of land surrounded by Church Street, Division, Central, and Hughey Avenues. With the recent addition of Orlando City Stadium, home of the Orlando City soccer team, the development will go a long way towards revitalizing downtown Orlando and the Parramore neighborhood.

The new mixed-use development will feature

  • A new headquarters for the Orlando Magic front office
  • A 250-room luxury hotel
  • A 300-unit residential tower with apartments and condos
  • An office building for small businesses that will total more than 200,000 square feet
  • Numerous bars and restaurants
  • A central plaza with digital and lighting experiences similar to LA Live! (Staples Center)
  • A parking garage with 2,400 spaces

The development’s construction is expected to be completed in 2021, will cost more than $200M to build, and will be overseen by HKS Architects. Foundry Commercial will help find tenants for the office building. In regards to bars and restaurants, the Orlando Magic are also seeking a bowling-alley franchise to move into the development. Other NBA teams that have added mixed-use developments outside of their arenas include the Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers. The overall goal of the developments is to make the venue and neighborhood a year around destination for tourists and fans.
