PNC Park Seating Chart, Pittsburgh Pirates.

Where To Sit At PNC Park

PNC Park is widely considered to be both the best and most beautiful ballpark in Major League Baseball. Our staff certainly thinks so. Read our official review of PNC Park. The Pittsburgh Pirates incorporated so much into this ballpark from the view of the downtown Pittsburgh skyline, the stadium’s location on the Allegheny River, the Roberto Clemente pedestrian bridge in the distance, the escalator in the rotunda, the bronze statues of former players, the Riverwalk behind the outfield, the local concession offerings with favorites such as Manny’s BBQ and Primanti Brothers. PNC Park has it all.

Our staff wanted to provide a breakdown of the PNC Park seating chart so that fans will have a better idea about what tickets to purchase for Pittsburgh Pirates games as well as to better navigate PNC Park. Keep in mind that the double-lettered rows will sit behind the single-lettered rows and will be protected from the sun because they sit under the club level. Also keep in mind that the current layout and names of the seating areas at PNC Park are subject to change in coming seasons.

We’ll start with an analysis of the Lexus Club seats behind home plate.

Right Field Reserved

Photo of PNC Park from the right field reserved seats.

The right field reserved seats at PNC Park include sections 142 through 147. The rows for the right field reserved sections are lettered A through M. If you’ve watched Pittsburgh Pirates games on television, you’ll notice the large platform of seats in outfield near the right field foul pole. Those are the right field reserved seats (see above) and provide an excellent view of the outfield below.

The major downside to these seats is that the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline is to your back and fans aren’t able to see it while the game is going on unless they turn around. However, these seats are one of the best seating areas at PNC Park to catch home runs; especially from left-handed batters.

Center Field Reserved

The center field reserved seats at PNC Park include sections 139, 140 and 141. The rows for the center field reserved seats will be lettered A through L for sections 139 and 140. The rows for section 141 are lettered A through F. Believe it or not, you won’t catch a ton of home runs in these seats since they sit so far from home plate. You also won’t get the view of the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline during the game. However, the center field reserved sections are very small and some fans enjoy the intimacy and not having a ton of steps to climb.

Bleachers

Photo of PNC Park from the bleacher seats during a Pittsburgh Pirates game.

The bleacher seats at PNC Park are located in the outfield of left and left center field. The bleacher seats are set at two different price points; the lower bleachers (sections 133 through 138) and the upper bleachers (sections 235-238). The rows for the upper bleachers will be lettered A through R. The rows for the lower bleachers will vary; just keep in mind that the lower bleacher sections have fewer rows and row A will always be the first row.

Sections 138 and 238 will provide baseball fans with an excellent view of each team's bullpens in center field. The visiting team’s pitchers use the bullpen closest to the field. The Pirates pitchers use the second bullpen behind it. The bleacher seats at PNC Park are an excellent bargain for fans on a budget that don’t want to sit on the 300 level. However, there are no cup holders and the seats are metal and is bound to be uncomfortable for some. Especially when compared to the individual seats in other sections.

Overall, the bleacher seats are an excellent area to catch home runs from right-handed batters. The downside is that fans with bleacher tickets won’t have the best view of the scoreboard and will have to turn around to see what’s on it. Fans seated in the upper bleacher sections that are directly beneath the scoreboard may not be able to see it at all.

The home plate grandstand seats are the most expensive seats on the 300 level.

The last row in each grandstand section will typically be row Y. Row R is the last row in the grandstand sections behind home plate. The first row in the grandstand sections will vary and will typically be row A, D or H.

Miller Lite Rooftop

Photo of PNC Park from the Miller Rooftop seats during a Pittsburgh Pirates game.

The Miller Lite Rooftop is a party area located above the bleachers in left field. The rooftop is able to hold between 50 and 300 patrons and also offers outdoor lounge seating. The rooftop is ideal for casual events and cocktail parties. To inquire about booking the Miller Lite Rooftop for an event, please visit Pirates.MLB.com.

Like the other 29 Major League Baseball stadiums, PNC Park has added additional netting around the infield to better protect fans from the foul balls that often leave the field. The netting at PNC Park now extends from sections 9 to 24. The netting, however, doesn’t impact fans’ view of the field to a great extent.

If you haven’t visited PNC Park yet, you’re missing out. If you’re an avid ballpark traveler, PNC Park is an easy ballpark to knockout along with Progressive Field (Cleveland Indians) which is only two hours away.
