Arrowhead Stadium, one of the oldest and loudest stadiums in the National Football League, is set to receive a series of upgrades for the 2019 NFL season. The upgrades are expected to cost nearly $10M to complete. The venue has not received any upgrades in just over a decade and is striving to continue offering a fan experience that is competitive with other NFL stadiums.

The changes at Arrowhead Stadium that Kansas City Chiefs will be able to enjoy next season include the following.

  • An improved display for the Arrowvision scoreboard in the upper west end zone of Arrowhead Stadium.
  • The upper level of the stadium will be waterproofed which will prevent water from dripping onto the fans in the club level seats below.
  • All seats on the upper level will be replaced and will now include cup holders.

The renovations will be paid in full by the Kansas City Chiefs. In coming years, the team will be able to request reimbursement for upgrades made to the stadium from the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority. Arrowhead Stadium has been home to the Kansas City Chiefs since 1972 and is known to offer one of the best tailgating scenes in the National Football League.
