The Miami Heat recently unveiled several new upgrades to American Airlines Arena that will improve the fan experience this season.

The upgrades include a new LED system for the venue’s video boards throughout the arena, a new and improved audio system, new lighting, upgraded Wi-Fi, a new team store on the 300 level and new seating in various sections throughout the arena.

The new lighting system is similar to the lighting that the Miami Heat organization debuted last season. Fans will also only be able to enter the arena via mobile ticketing on their smart phones. You read that correctly. Paper tickets are no longer offered at American Airlines Arena for Miami Heat games unless you have tickets waiting on you at will call. Utilizing the mobile tickets requires the download of the Miami Heat app.

American Airlines Arena has served as the home of the Miami Heat since opening in 1999. It doesn’t get a ton of attention on the national stage compared to venues like Madison Square Garden or the Staples Center. However, it is an excellent arena to see a game in. Even after the departure of Lebron James and Dwayne Wade.
