Shake Shack is a New York City fast food restaurant that specializes in “roadside burgers”, milkshakes and crinkle-cut fries. As it turns out, one Shake Shack wasn’t enough for the city of Baltimore. The Baltimore Ravens are now bringing Shake Shack to M&T Bank Stadium, much to the enjoyment of their fans. The Ravens debuted Shake Shack on Thursday when they hosted their first preseason game vs. the Washington Redskins.

The city’s first Shake Shack is located on Pratt Street at the Inner Harbor. The location inside the stadium is near Section 109, measures 1600 square feet and will employ roughly thirty people. The addition of Shake Shack also accompanies the Baltimore Raven’s most recent renovations to M&T Bank Stadium which include new exterior signage and video boards in each end zone. M&T Bank Stadium is the first NFL stadium to offer Shake Shack. Other stadiums such as Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies), the Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers) and Citi Field (New York Mets) currently offer Shake Shack inside their venues.

The idea for bringing Shake Shack to M&T Bank Stadium came after the stadium’s food and beverage partner (Aramark) pitched the idea to the Baltimore Ravens front office. Aramark also handles the food and beverage operations for the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania among other professional stadiums and arenas. Food and beer offerings have become a very important aspect of NFL fan culture. It’s vital that teams continuously aim to improve this particular aspect of their home stadiums.
